Mainstay and Houselink have ramped up tenant engagement activities in preparation for a vote to decide if the two organizations will join together as one next April. The vision for the joining of the two supportive housing providers is to protect what they have, make services better for tenants, and lift more people our of homelessness. By joining together, they will be able to build more high quality housing and make a bigger difference in the sector.

In March, the pandemic paused amalgamation and engagement activities. However, as both organizations need to plan for the future, a decision on whether they are planning ahead as one organization or two is important. Houselink held its vote on November 25, achieving an 84% majority in favour of joining together. Mainstay will hold its tenant vote by phone and virtually on January 12.
